Paula do Prado is a Sydney based artist working with a range of media including textiles, photography, collage, text, painting and object/installation. Her art practice explores identity in relation to questions of authenticity, privilege and belonging. Conceptually driven, her work attempts to tease out the politics of experience in connection to race, gender and cultural identity. Paula's work is strongly influenced by her Australian sense of identity and mixed African and Latin heritage, readily featuring 'dichos' or colloquial expressions in both Spanish and English.
